We are looking for:
a QA Lead to join the core mobile app powering Volkswagen’s digital user experience across Android and iOS. Whether you prefer remote or hybrid work #LI-Hybrid, we’ve got you covered! As the QA Lead, you’ll take ownership of our mobile testing ecosystem, balancing manual and automated approaches to deliver reliable and high-quality releases. You’ll shape how testing integrates with development, guiding the engineers while ensuring the automation strategy continues to evolve efficiently.
Your Tasks:
Mobile QA leadership:
Automation strategy:
Maintain and expand automated test coverage (currently 40–50 nightly regression tests per platform).
Evaluate new regression test cases for automation ROI (balancing time, cost, and impact).
Drive discussions with developers on integrating automated test runs into the CI/CD pipeline.
Cross-team collaboration:
Collaborate closely with Android and iOS developers to ensure testability of new features
Open and prioritize tickets where testability improvements are needed.
Facilitate communication between QA, development, and external partners.
Process optimisation:
Assess and enhance testing efficiency, including how teams access and interpret nightly test results.
Propose cost-effective solutions for AWS-based test runs.
Your Profile:
We're looking for someone who meets business goals, encourages knowledge-sharing & someone who's fun to work with!
Summary:
7+ years of experience in mobile QA, ideally including automation for Android/iOS
Prior experience coordinating QA processes across in-house or external teams
Understanding of XCUItest, Espresso, and UI Automator (you don’t need to be a daily coder, but you must understand what they do)
Familiarity with Swift and Kotlin environments
Strong grasp of QA automation principles
Experience working with AWS-based test pipelines is a plus
Non-Technical Skills:
Good communication skills, ability to bridge QA and development perspectives
Ability to prioritize test automation where it really matters
Comfortable discussing technical trade-offs, budgeting test resources, and advocating for improvements
